This more of a american-mexican cookbook littered with misinformation, especially in the section on the various peppers. Chili pequins are labeled peguins (which are not a pepper). Bell peppers come in both sweet and hot. Anaheims can range from 100 to 500 scovilles depending on the subvariety. Serranos which are the only peppers as common as jalepenos are not even mentioned. Neither are are guajillos which are are probably the most commonly used dried pepper in mexican cooking. They are the base for most chile powders and the base pepper for mole rojo, the red sauce used in cheese and beef enchiladas. Frank's hot sauce is a yankee thing. In Texas you can only find it in big cities and only recently. Yucatan habenero salsa would be better, or Cholula if you want something milder.Product details

Mexican Cookbook Easy Delicious Recipes Everyone Will Love edition by Sara Jane Scott Cookbooks Food Wine eBooks Reviews
I love Mexican food. I also love these delicious recipes. Most of them have ingredients I keep on hand.
I like that about recipes...I hate it when something sounds good and I don't have all the ingredients to make
it on hand. These will quickly become your favorites too. Grab it today and enjoy a great Mexican meal tonight.
This cookbook is a good book for beginner cooks and what I call "convenience" cooks (those in a hurry, or who need shortcuts). The recipes are not traditional Mexican recipes, but rather, that hybrid that many people accept as "Mexican". The section on peppers is valuable and educational.
There are definitely some worthwhile recipes in this book. It was well worth the price I paid (free). You can find recipes for tacos, enchiladas, and margaritas. I'd say the food is probably more Tex MexAmerican than what your average Mexican eats, but, hey! that's why they give us recipes, so we can change them. I like quite a few of these recipes.
You'll hit the jackpot with this one! I picked it up on free promotion because I've been bored with my meal plans (and putting off dieting.) This book is the whole enchilada! It has everything from traditional fish tacos to deserts and even liquid! The pictures had my mouth drueling but the best part is that all of these recipes are easily doable! There is nothing difficult here and I usually have all the ingredients!
I so LOVE Mexican food and this book is simply YUMMY! Well written and formatted with nice pics inside. Some recipes are really simple and easy to make. My favorite one is Beef Tacos and of course the all time classic Margarita! If you LOVE Mexican cuisine or just want to impress your guests, then this book is for you. Highly recommended.
I love Mexican food and was happy to purchase this book. The recipes are wonderful and I especially like the fish tacos because they are delicious and somewhat healthier that the meat varieties. I am a huge fan of avocado and I can't wait to try all the recipes that have them as an ingredient. The Sopapilla looks like an amazing desert. This author obviously has experience cooking Mexican cuisine and does a wonderful job with the directions on how to prepare these scrumptious dishes!

Mexican cooking at its best. Top recipes with instructions on how to make them. There is no nutritional information.
Pictures for each recipe with a little bit about them and then the directions on how to make them along with a serving size.
Loved learning about the scoring system on the hot peppers.
Index at the back of the book not only shows the picture of them and a spice, where applicable, but the heat index as well.
